There’s still no clarity as to whether Jermall Charlo will fight Canelo Alvarez on Cinco de Mayo weekend. News reports on the subject have been cropping up intermittently. Fans and followers eagerly anticipate a fresh update on the matter. But in the meantime, a new buzz from the middleweight champion appears to be gaining significant traction.

After a gap of over two years, Jermall Charlo finally entered the ring last year in November. Amidst a range of doubts, he shut down a combative Jose Benavidez Jr. successfully. Subsequent months saw his name make headlines over a much-anticipated clash against the undisputed super middleweight champion. While that is going on, the Hitman not long ago, out of the blue, called up Kick streamer Adin Ross during one of his live streams. The response from Charlo not only left him startled but also sent shockwaves through a multitude of Ross’ followers.

Hey, hey, hey… throw me and my boy the bag, and we straight, you know what I mean,” said the voice purportedly belonging to Jermall Charlo in a clip that showed Adin Ross and an associate. The footage was shared a few hours ago by Happy Punch through its X/Twitter and Instagram handles. Their message read, “Jermall Charlo just drunk called Adin Ross, asking for a bag to commentate his next boxing event.

A few days ago, Adin Ross concluded his second boxing warehouse event. So presumably the need is for a looming fixture. When Ross asked how much he required, Jermall Charlo, in turn, asked how much the former usually charged. The popular streamer replied, “I’am gonna be honest, bro. Um, I’ve never paid anyone to commentate it’s really just out of love, so I didn’t really like think.

Charlo shot back, “I know, but like this right here, this right here gonna get like this right here. Don’t don’t take it up.” Ross revealed how he has been in conversation with Andre (Ward?), Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia, and Devin Haney, none of whom have ever demanded any amount sort of money from him.

However, Jermall Charlo persisted: “I’am not Gervonta; I’am not Andre; I’am like, it’s bigger than that.” Then Adin Ross mentioned that perhaps they should take the matter off the camera and find a solution. The ‘Hitman’ closed, adding, “You, bro, I ain’t ask for a whole bunch of money or nothing.

From the way he sounded, many would be wondering whether Jermall Charlo was in an inebriated state or what. Nevertheless, a river of comments has been flowing in since the footage appeared on social media. But this side distraction aside, perhaps what might be more concerning to the fans could be his return to form. Against Jose Benavidez Jr., Jermall Charlo proved that he still retains the power and technique. Hence, he just has to remain consistent to once again claim his place among boxing’s A-listers.
