There is a chance that Ryan Garcia’s stunning win over Devin Haney. will be overturned. Reports have emerged that Ryan Garcia returned positive test results for a banned performance-enhancing drug (PED) before and after the fight with Haney. This does cast a shadow over his win but true to his style, the young boxer from California launched a counteroffensive.

Refuting the test results, Ryan Garcia shared a video on Instagram. He also poured his heart out through a series of tweets and messages on social media. As could be expected, Devin Haney, after coming across the news, responded with a message of his own.

Boxing reporter Dan Rafael first revealed that Garcia had tested positive for the banned substance ostarine in two drug tests with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) before and after his bout with Haney. Garcia has a time window of 10 days to request testing of his B samples and prove his innocence. Failure to do that could lead to a fine as well as a suspension, and his victory could be overturned into a no-contest. However, Garcia vociferously denied any claims of using PEDs.

What’s up, everybody? I came on here to address this bull f**king sh*t claim that I cheated,” said ‘KingRy’ in a video on Instagram. With two of his friends standing behind him, the former interim lightweight champion stated that most of the fans and followers are aware that he is not a cheater.

Questioning why the reports weren’t shared before the fight, he said, “Um, what can I say? You know, why didn’t they come out with this before you the fight if they found it before? Why would they let me step into the ring as a cheater and then come out with the victory, and then they post this, you know?

Asserting that he had never engaged himself with steroids, Ryan Garcia said that he wasn’t even aware of how to source these substances. He added, “I barely you know, take uh, the supplements; um, they’re saying it’s coming from the ‘Ashwagandha’, that’s f**king retarded, so big lies. I beat his a** f*ck out of here. Everybody go to Warwick tonight; it’s lit.

Speaking of ‘Ashwagandha’, in a tweet, displaying close snapshots of the product, which reveal it to be ‘Vegan Liquid Phyto-Caps’ Herbal Supplement’, Ryan Garcia wrote, “My bad, I shouldn’t have took this.

In another Instagram post, he shared a couple of messages he’d posted. One read, “Hmm…I’m seen with Trump.” And now I’m positive for steroids. This is a straight attack. Crazy.” Interestingly, he also uploaded a message from his former opponent, Gervonta Davis (now Abdul Wahid). The WBA lightweight champion said, “They doing anything to take away the win from Ryan…if that’s the case, BANNED EDDIE HEARN SILVER POON A**!

Further Garcia questioned in a post on X, “Why in the world would I volunteer for a drug test if I planned on taking drugs? Make it make sense???” Golden Boy Promotions, Garcia’s promoters, said they would “determine how this finding came to be.” “Ryan has put out multiple statements denying knowingly using any banned substances – and we believe him,” their statement read.

Meanwhile, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has announced on X that Garcia’s test results returned “adverse findings” and assured due process will be followed.

He posted, “The WBC had received notification from VADA about Ryan Garcia adverse findings on tests taken with connection to his fight against Haney. The due process begins immediately as per the WBC Clean Boxing Program Protocol. More information to follow.”

After the news of Garcia’s failed drug test, broke out, it didn’t take much time before Devin Haney came up with a statement.

“People die in this sport,” Haney has strong words for Ryan Garcia

Haney lost his unbeaten record to Garcia after a majority decision at New York’s Barclays Center on April 20. But in light of this new update, he isn’t pleased and believes that Garcia cheated the fans as well as the sport.

In a statement to ESPN he said, “We learned about this situation not too long ago, and it’s unfortunate Ryan cheated and disrespected both the fans and the sport of boxing by fighting dirty and breaking positive not once but twice. I’ve always been an advocate for clean fighting, and this is an example of such. Ryan owes the fans an apology, and by his recent tweet, he still thinks this is a joke. We put our lives on the line to entertain people for a living. You don’t play boxing,” said ‘The Dream’.
