The interviewer further asked Stevenson if he thought it was a close fight. To which the 25-year-old and unbeaten star replied negatively. In his opinion, Devin Haney vs. Vasyl Lomachenko was far from being a close fight. Hence, he went to the extent of branding the decision as a robbery. “Nah, I thought it was a robbery,” Stevenson added. Observing Haney’s performance inside the ring, Stevenson also felt that Haney barely competed against Lomachenko. “I don’t think it was competitive at all,” he stated.

In the same vein, following the fight, while Haney reiterated that Lomachenko was a “future Hall-of-Famer,” Lomachenko was of the view that Haney is not a pound-for-pound boxer in the sport. Ahead of the bout, Haney said he would make a statement and impose his will on the Ukrainian boxer. However, seeing the bout, a number of fans now believe Haney fell short and it was Lomachenko who delivered a statement.
