The fans are eager for Andy ‘The Destroyer’ Ruiz Jr. to dust off his gloves finally. However, Ruiz has set his sights on a 2024 comeback. Even though the former unified heavyweight champion has been out of the ring for a while, the fire still burns. Ruiz’s last two wins over Chris Arreola and Luis Ortiz also couldn’t satisfy some hardcore boxing fans after the grueling Anthony Joshua rematch.
However, fans want to see him back in the big leagues. A planned WBC eliminator against Deontay Wilder also fell through due to financial disagreements. So, currently, Ruiz Jr. has no finalized date or an opponent for his comeback fight, and there hasn’t been any announcement regarding his next fight as well. Due to this, the IBHOF (International Boxing Hall of Fame) elector has raised concerns about his boxing career.

Andy Ruiz Jr’s career went a bit downhill, ever since he was defeated by Anthony Joshua in 2019. Interestingly, it was also Anthony Joshua’s ‘Day of Reckoning’ card in 2023, when Ruiz Jr. assured his fans of his return. As per the TNT Sports, he said, “I need to get ready. I feel really good. In 2024, we’re coming back. I had surgery on my right shoulder, so I already had two months preparing and recovering. I need two more months and I’ll be ready to go next year.”
