Back in those days, the only time boxers would trash-talk to each other was when they would meet in person for interviews, weigh-ins, etc. It is because there were no social media platforms, such as Twitter, during Jones’ era. Now, anyone trash-talks about others on social media regardless of whether they are fighting them or not.

In his interview with ‘Pro Boxing Fans,’ Jones said – “No, I wouldn’t because I’d go to jail. Because if you talk about me on social media, I’d hit you in the mouth. So, when I see you, I’ll go jail.”

Jones made his boxing debut in 1989 and retired in 2018, with a spectacular professional boxing record of 66-9 (47 T/KO). He is a former four-division world champion, having held major titles in the middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight divisions.
