With only hours left for the Jermell CharloCanelo Alvarez fight, fans are ecstatic to watch their favorite fighter go against each other in the ring. Canelo, who will be defending his title of undisputed light middleweight world champion, is one of the most accomplished boxers today. A versatile and skilled fighter, Canelo will be a major hurdle to move across. For the fight, Charlo has put himself through rigorous training. The solution he found to the weight dilemma was to bulk up and then go down to 168 pounds.

As the fight draws closer, Charlo, in an interview with Jim Lampley for PPV.COM, has broken down what might work in his favor. The undisputed light middleweight world champion has gone up two weight classes to replace his brother in the fight against Canelo. The sudden shift can prove to be a drawback for most, but it seems Charlo is confident in his tactics to secure his win. Not just a bigger puncher, he also has a few more skills up his sleeve to take on this challenge, which he shared in the interview.

In the interview with Lampley, Charlo got really candid. Talking about the elements that will carry him to his victory, he said, “I feel like I’m a bigger puncher of course at 168 ’cause I didn’t, you know, I have more weight on me. I didn’t have to drain myself to make 154. I feel like I’m; at this weight, I just feel no one at this weight currently, right now would probably have the speed that I have.”

When talking about the technical areas where Charlo will have to focus the most, he said, “I think the cleverness has to be using my speed, using different angles, levels of power and just being a dog.” Charlo is very confident in his abilities. He believes that his speed, agility, and power will be difficult for Canelo to match. Also, unlike Canelo, Charlo did not have to go through major dietary cutdowns.
