Back in April 2018, Adrien Broner returned to the ring after suffering a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Mikey Garcia in the previous year. He fought against ‘The Pride of Las Vegas’ Jessie Vargas at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn. In a closely contested battle, Adrien Broner and Jessie Vargas fought to a majority draw, leaving the decision hanging in the balance.

Originally slated as a 140-pound WBC championship eliminator against Omar Figueroa Jr., the match underwent a late alteration with Vargas stepping in at 144 pounds due to Figueroa’s injury. It led a lot of fans to believe that a rematch would take place but it never came to fruition. Some developments hint that it might end up taking place.
