“I’m Glad That You’re Still in The Game”: Oscar De La Hoya Lends a Shoulder of Support to Adrien Broner

The former three-division world champion Adrien Broner is reportedly struggling in his career and in need of genuine guidance. Following his contract with Don King, ‘The Problem’ made his comeback this year in June against Bill Hutchinson. While Broner was still a free agent, Oscar De La Hoya took to Twitter and publicly announced that he would love to promote the 33-year-old.

Recently, an interviewer from FightHype informed De La Hoya about the tough situation Broner is going through. Hearing about Broner, the CEO of Golden Boy Boxing declared that he was glad Broner was still in the sport. In addition, he looked forward to assisting ‘The Problem’.

The interviewer told ‘Golden Boy’ that Adrien Broner is “going through a lot” and would likely relate to what Oscar De La Hoya once felt when his career was at a low ebb. In this context, it is worth mentioning that recently De La Hoya’s documentary was released, which was meant to expose the “lifelong demons” the Olympic gold medalist faced. In this connection, speaking about Broner, De La Hoya said, “A lot of fighters, athletes, and entertainers, they can all relate. I mean it’s a tough life.” Additionally, he said he loved Broner.

Speaking with FightHype, De La Hoya stated that he was glad Broner was still in the game. “Keep going, I’m glad that you’re still in the game,” he encouragingly said. Meanwhile, he even recalled the time he took him to Afghanistan on the USO tour. “I love Adrien Broner; I took him to Afghanistan with me on the USO tour. I can understand all the s**t he is going through,” De La Hoya added. While on the same topic, ‘Golden Boy’ claimed that he was more than “just a promoter“. In his own words, “I can guide you”. “Just come and ask me, because I’ve been there and I’ve done that,” he sympathetically announced.
