“I’m Going for the Knockout”: Terence Crawford Reveals His Plan for Errol Spence Jr.

Terence Crawford vs. Errol Spence Jr. is finally here and the duo recently sat for a talk with Stephen A. Smith. On being asked why fans had to wait so long for this fight, Spence Jr. replied that “great things” took time. However, he promised that Crawford vs. Spence Jr. would be the greatest fight the welterweight division has witnessed in the last 40 years.

In the same vein, Crawford expressed that he was happy and loving it. In his opinion, Spence Jr. would have to live up to his words and take the belt away from ‘Bud’. Likewise, he stated, “The last one is always the hardest one. And there’s a lot riding on this fight.” While Spence Jr. claimed he had the jab and the body shots to defeat Crawford, the latter gave his prediction for the fight scheduled to take place on July 29.

Speaking to Stephen A. Smith, the WBO world welterweight title holder assured Errol Spence Jr. that “it will be like none of the other fights“. According to Crawford, there is a lot riding on this contest. While Errol Spence Jr. believes in his style, Crawford assured that he will put on a show and win the contest “in a spectacular fashion“. Likewise, Crawford stated, “The sun’s gonna shine on me on July 29th.”

Revealing his plan for Errol Spence Jr., Crawford, who considers himself meaner and stronger, said, “If I get him hurt, I’m going for the knockout. I don’t have a 100% ratio of knockouts in the welterweight division for nothing. Ever since I moved up I became meaner, stronger, punching harder. So of course, the knockout comes.

Additionally, Crawford stated how much he had been wanting this fight with Spence Jr. Likewise, he claimed he was happy and excited to test his skills against the unified welterweight champion of the world. While Spence Jr. branded the bout as “the fight of the decade,” Crawford promised he would show the world why he is the best fighter on the planet. Meanwhile, Mike Coppinger believes the winner of the bout would likely face Jermell Charlo.
