Thus the situation has left the whole boxing world in disbelief. Renowned columnist Mike Lupica took the chance to share his prayers for Larry on social media. He disclosed the news to his followers writing, “The great Larry Merchant is my friend and one of my heroes. He has been hospitalized at the age of 92, and needs your prayers, along with mine.” Moreover, he also revealed that he had spoken with the legendary commentator before, complimenting him on his wit and humor.
