Although precise details are not available, some reports suggest that PBC head Al Haymon has not been keeping well. The news appears to have gained attention when longtime critic Rick Glaser took the time to shed some light on his situation. As most fans know, Glaser has been quite vocal on social media about the ongoing issues and challenges faced at PBC.

Last year, after Showtime’s exit from boxing, Al Haymon’s PBC formed a partnership with Amazon Prime to broadcast both pay-per-view and non-pay-per-view events. On March 30, headlined by the Tim TszyuSebastian Fundora fight, the deal’s inaugural show featured. The June 15 Gervonta Davis and David Benavidez dual main event followed subsequently. However, consistent tweets from Rick Glaser suggested that not everything was right within the PBC stable. Thus, in light of those messages, his latest post may have raised a few eyebrows for sure.

Wishing well for Al Haymon

Understandably, the New York State Boxing Hall of Fame inductee first acknowledged what he always felt about Al Haymon and his promotions. “Most know about disdain for #AlHaymon & #PBC,” he said. However, through sources, it appears he seems to have received some sort of information regarding Haymon’s health issues.

Offering his prayers for Haymon, Glaser said, “My sincere prayers for Al Haymon.” Many followers joined Glaser, offering their best wishes for Al Haymon. Additionally, an offhanded comment from former middleweight champion Jermall Charlo may provide further insight into Haymon’s current condition.

Charlo, who returned last year after a two-year layoff to face Jose Benavidez Jr. As he went live on social media, calling out Demetrius Andrade, he said, “Somebody call uh Boo Boo Andrade and tell that ni***r to get on the f**ck I’m live right now he texting me why bro bro he’s he’s…this sh*t weird we got to make our own fights at this time Al (Haymon)’s sick so I’m I’m with it uh what’s up let’s get this fight going.

Though Glaser’s expression of concern might surprise some, most would view it as a thoughtful gesture from the veteran matchmaker.

A tweet timeline

At the beginning of the week, Rick Glaser shared a list of ‘Bad Guys in Boxing’ that invariably had Al Haymon’s name in it, though not necessarily in any order of significance. It followed an update that Amazon might consider collaborating with another promoter for boxing broadcasts next year. “A big part of that is Amazon Prime Excutives do not trust the problem & financially plagued #PBC to fulfill, as PBC haven’t fulfilled their #Amazon contract this year,” he stated.

Then last month, ahead of the big Canelo AlvarezEdgar Berlanga card on September 15, Rick Glaser took the opportunity to slam PBC for retaining older, semi-retired fighters such as Danny Garcia and Leo Santa Cruz in its roster. Incidentally, on October 8, through a tweet, Rick Glaser shared how it had been a year since he faced a near-death situation while on a visit to Las Vegas. Reflecting on his recovery, he contemplated, “You never realize how short life is till it flashes in front of your eyes.

What are your personal views on the PBC-Amazon cards conducted this year?
