Yesterday, one conversation overwhelmed the boxing community. ‘The Gyspy King’s injury and the subsequent postponement of ‘Ring of Fire’ with Oleksandr Usyk. Thanks to a new arrangement, fans can now find some solace. But in the meantime, side-antics continue to keep the moment peppy. For instance, an early morning clip from Tyson Fury literally had many of the followers scratch their heads.
Instead of February 17, as it stands, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk would be meeting on May 18. The two were all set to stake a claim to the hitherto vacant, undisputed title. So, taking to his Instagram handle, the WBC heavyweight champion lambasted the unified champion for purported false claims. As it usually happens, fans from both sides of the fence joined in, chiming in with their viewpoints. But a cautious perusal soon found a few of the followers jumping onto a different bandwagon.

Another Night for Tyson Fury versus Oleksandr Usyk
So calling out Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury said, “Look at that ba***rd right there. Nice little elbow right in the eye nearly cost me the biggest fight in my career, but what can you do? Sh*t happens, and we move on…. And now we have a new date, Usyk’s crying his eyes out: ‘Tyson should retire,’ or, he wants to retire. Oh, no retirement here, motherf**ker. You get knocked out, knocked spark out. May 18, the new date…”

Per the latest available reports, ‘The Gypsy King’ and the Ukrainian champion will square up once again, three months after the current scheduled date expires. In an exclusive with Ariel Helwani‘s ‘MMA Hour’, the promoter of the fight, who is also the head of the Riyadh Season, H.E. Turki Alalshikh, made it clear that a fight would happen. May 18 is the new date. The boxers risk a penalty of $10 million in case of a withdrawal, aside from a subsequent substitution that will follow.
Understandably, quite a few fans who were upset with the entire goings-on still took it on ‘The Gypsy King’ for dropping out of the fight.
The Traveling Cut?
However, what might have begun as a single comment soon found other voices of support when the question over which side of Tyson Fury’s face received the cut gained ground. Per the clips that circulated widely across social media forums, the champion sustained the nasty injury above his right eye. However, the dissing clip in the latest shows a cut above the left. How come?
This user seemed surprised that the cut moved across Fury’s eyes.
his cut has moved eyes !

Then, bringing into reference yesterday’s photos and clips, this follower also pointed out that the cut appeared on the other side.
Hang on. Isn’t this cut on the opposite side to the picture we all saw yesterday? Tell me I’m wrong

One of the users who replied back to him also echoed similar sentiments and cited their confusion.
In the sparring video they released looks like the elbow of punch lands on right hand side of face first picture cut on right side now on cut left side confusing 😂
— Gordon Mackay (@gordonmackay83) February 4, 2024
But this follower soon interjected, pointing out how video recording brought about the mirror imagery effect. So essentially, the cut stays where it was.
video recording has a mirror effect mate. so yeah, don't worry, it is on the other side

Then, outside of that discussion, one of the users highlighted how they lost all the respect they had for Tyson Fury. In their strong opinion, if the new move is expected to churn out high pay-per-view sales, then a big surprise awaits.
All respect for him has gone now. If they think this will sell more PPV they are much mistaken, I feel.

Thankfully, the much-vaunted fight has been pushed back by a few months. It might have disappointed many fans who had been waiting for a long time to see the big battle. However, with the new provisions, they can be assured of a full return on their money.
As far as the boxers are concerned, both Fury and Usyk now have more time in hand to prepare themselves for the final onslaught. Next month, Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou will fight. The winner might get a shot to fight against the winner of the undisputed battle. So even with an extended date, neither the Mancunian nor the Ukrainian can afford to let their guards down.
