Danny Garcia bemoans that the stage is always set for Canelo Alvarez

Over the years, Alvarez has established himself as a massive star in the sport. As a result, Garcia feels with his star status, Alvarez brutally overshadows the fighters he now fights. In his opinion, every event now almost looks forward to paying homage to Canelo in the manner they showcase Alvarez. According to Garcia, this treatment that Canelo receives overwhelms the boxers he is placed against.

Likewise, Garcia said, “Remember, Canelo started his career at 147. Then went up to 154 for a long time. Even he’s the smaller guy in his weight classes when he fights. But, a lot of people [who] lose, [they] don’t lose to Canelo, they lose to the event.” “Because when you fight Canelo, the stage is set for him,” added Garcia.
