In a recent interview with the IFL TV, Conor Benn announced he would face Chris Eubank Jr. in 2024. On that note, having accused Eubank Jr. of blackmailing ‘The Destroyer’ for a million pounds, Benn even branded his bout with the former “personal.”

Following this interview, several sources claimed the fight was already set for the 3rd of February. However, Eddie Hearn has recently announced that the bout was not signed. In addition, although hopeful, he stated Benn could potentially move on from the Eubank Jr. fight.

Eddie Hearn emphasizes Conor Benn vs. Chris Eubank Jr. has yet to be “finalized”

In his recent interview with Boxing Social, Eddie Hearn announced that it was incorrect to state that Conor Benn vs. Chris Eubank Jr. was on. As per his statement, while he hopes the fight will come to fruition, the bitter truth is that the bout has yet to be finalized. In this context, the Chairperson of Matchroom Sport even referred to an article that had confidently declared the bout was happening.

The first thing it says is, ‘It’s on.’ In the first paragraph, it says it is expected to be finalized this week. So, I think definitely the second part of that [article] is closer to the truth. It’s not on until the fight is signed. And it’s not signed [yet]. So, firstly, the fight isn’t on,” said Eddie. At the same time, he also assured the fans that they would try their best to make the fight happen.

But we do, I expect, I think ‘hope’ is a better word to finalize it this week,” he added. While on the topic, Hearn also revealed that Benn was impatient and eager to explore options other than Chris.
