Tommy Fury, the former rival of Jake Paul, would fight Paul Bamba on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather vs. Deji. At the weigh-in, Tommy Fury weighed 7lbs heavier than the prescribed weight for the fight. Fury, 23, would fight the 9th pro fight of his life against Bamba at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Following Fury missing the weight ahead of his bout, Bamba demanded 20% of Fury’s purse, given the fight still takes place on November 13, Sunday night.

In addition, Fury is advised to lose at least 3lbs of the extra weight for the placement of the November 13 fight. Following the breakout of the news in public, several figures from the boxing world reacted to it. Jake Paul, who earlier was supposed to face Fury twice, reacted immediately by taking a jab at Fury.

In 2021, Fury missed his fight with ‘The Problem Child’ because suffered broken ribs. This year, Fury failed to face Paul in the ring due to certain visa issues. Following the cancellation of the Tommy Fury fight, Jake Paul found hope in facing Hasim Rahman Jr. in the ring.

Now that Fury missed weight for his upcoming bout, Jake Paul questioned his professionalism as an athlete in the sport. Paul said he felt sorry for the Fury name.

In a lengthy message, Jake Paul said, “Tommy Fury…ur getting paid a lot of money to be a professional. But time & time again you show that ur not. Missed a fight bc of “broken ribs”, missed a fight bc you “missed a flight” & now you miss weight by 7 pounds! I feel sorry for Frank & George Warren & the Fury name.”

Meanwhile, someone added, “Tommy fury is having a rough year in terms of public relations. Hard to find a reason to be a fan of that guy 😝🤣🤣”
