Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr. just squared off inside a sold-out Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. Demonstrating excellent skills and patience, Haney hit the mark and won the fight. A total of five championship belts were laid out on the line, and this marked the biggest event in Australia’s boxing history. George Kambosos Jr. arrived with an unbeaten record of 20-o and the Australian crowd favored him to win.

However, upsetting the Australian audience, Devin Haney found his way to the win. Kambosos Jr. in his last fight fought ‘Takeover’ Teofimo Lopez. Although ‘Ferocious’ entered the ring as the underdog in that fight, he surprised everyone and defeated the then unified lightweight champion of the world, Lopez.

Jake Paul, being the nuisance, Teofimo Lopez did not need in his life

In 2020, Teofimo Lopez fought the pound for pound king Vasily Lomachenko and dethroned the latter to win his titles. Now that he had capitalized against one of the biggest stars in boxing, Lopez became a fearsome name. Therefore, when Kambosos Jr. defeated ‘Takeover’, people thought of him as a potential opponent capable of defeating Haney. Well, things did not go that way and so, now Jake Paul took a jab at Lopez.

Taking to Twitter, Paul wrote, “Teofimo watching this right now punching the air #KambososVsHaney”

Kambosos Jr. prior to fighting Devin Haney had twenty fights and 20 wins. Seven times in his professional career, he went the entire distance. Although in the last fight, Teo started the match with some heat, Kambosos maintained his composure and soon found his rhythm.

As the bout progressed, Kambosos Jr. became more loose and competitive. However, tonight against Haney, he roughly showed a game plan. Haney kept the fight to himself, and Kambosos Jr. just kept moving. Neither did he land a significant shot, nor did he show a well-sketched strategy against the new undisputed lightweight champion. As a result, he lost, and the crowd remained unimpressed.
