Barring the man in the White House, it seems there isn’t a person Jake Paul doesn’t deem kosher for an opponent. For many, Jake is exceeding his remit by challenging a boxer many consider the greatest of this generation. However, curiosity got the better of Anthony while checking if there was a person against whom the Problem Child felt worth going. And back came Paul’s reply, “I think um Canelo and people like were the two biggest names in the sport and two biggest pay-per-view draws in the sport so not only is it a massive fight uh but because of our Styles and how we match up styles make fights right…”

Further elaborating, Jake mentioned that he is aware of the common perception if such a contest turns into a reality. It is two years since he turned professional. Paul is confident that he will turn a befitting match against Canelo with some additional time. Jake debunks skeptics with a conviction on their bout turning ‘iconic’ to the extent that the internet might run to the hills.

Senor Canelo Alvarez vs. Jake Paul

Now, Canelo is not a retired mixed martial artist staging a boxing comeback. That was the story so far in Jake’s career, with all three, from Ben Askren to Anderson Silva, spent forces in the UFC.

Canelo is a four-division world champion, from Light Middleweight to Light Heavyweight. The thirty-two-year-old held unified titles in three divisions and lineal titles in two. But, he comes from a country where boxing gets the treatment of religion. He is probably the most un-Mexican boxer you might come across.

Out of the fifty-eight career victories, he won nineteen, stretching the opponent till the final round’s penultimate second. Contrarily, most Mexican fighters traditionally prefer an all-action, constant-pressure, offense-first manner.

Contesting such a high-pedigreed boxer in his prime is something Jake is yet to face, despite assurances of scaling up.

‘I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse’

Pompliano quizzed the Ohioan on any attempt to reach the Alvarez camp. Jake promptly answered, “um we’ve talked to his lawyer, and I think he’s getting to a place where he sees how serious I am…

Unquestionably, Jake Paul became an overnight boxing sensation with a knockout win over Ali Loui Al-Fakhri, aka AnEsonGib, in 2020. However, despite persistent charges of cherry-picking the opponent, a marked difference in the Problem Child’s boxing is visible. Expressing confidence that substituted putting on an act, Jake expects fans to take him seriously.

Even if Canelo accepts Jake Paul’s terms, chances are fans have already made up their mind about the winner. For such are the sheer faith in the Mexican’s talent and style. Nevertheless, pundits might advise a prudent course of action for Jake. First, he should seek out an opponent in the interim who has ‘managed’ to get near Canelo’s skills. Then, start working on the feedback from those fights. At one point in the near future, who knows, he could be in a position to challenge Canelo Alvarez.

Whatever the outcome, the contest will surely put a dizzying strain on the internet.
