Smith Jr. started offensively, in a hurry to end the fight. However, Beterbiev, with his meanness and accuracy, broke down Smith Jr. part by part.

With a little over fifty seconds left in the second round, the ringside commentator announced, “a primed and ready world champion is being torn down here in round two.”

Just a few seconds later, it was a right hand followed by a lead and a big uppercut. Beterbiev won the fight, and he became the WBC, WBA, and IBF light-heavyweight champion. Recently, on Joe Rogan Experience, host Joe Rogan expressed his thoughts about the Canadian-Russian boxer.

On the new episode of the Joe Rogan Experience with guest Brian Redban, Rogan talked about the ferocity of Beterbiev. In short, two things impressed Rogan. First, Beterbiev is 37 yet performing as if he is in his prime. And second, the fact he is the only world champion with a 100% knockout ratio.

“I guess in your twenties, you’re like in your physical prime to like maybe 30. With athletes, they can kick it deep into the thirties. Like you can be an elite athlete.”

“This guy, Artur Beterbiev(37). Beterbiev just knocked out Joe Smith Jr. for the light heavyweight title. This guy is a f###ing animal. He’s 18-0, with 18 knockouts. He’s the only world champion that’s in boxing today, that has a 100% knockout ratio for every fight he’s ever been in. This guy is f###ing terrifying. Terrifying,” he added.
