Currently, the boxing fight that has become a momentary conversation among boxing fans is the fight between Canelo Alvarez and his British rival, John Ryder just after the day of the Cinco de Mayo celebration. On the day of May 5th, Mexicans managed to gain victory over the Second French Empire, in the Battle of Puebla in the mid-19th century. Now Alvarez is trying to make a comeback fight in his hometown, at Estadio Akron, Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. After a long span of 12 years, and will try to celebrate the victory of his people, by winning the boxing bout against Ryder.

The whole event is a celebration, and that’s how the card has been arranged as well. The Co-main event of the Cinco de Mayo boxing card will involve Julio Cesar Martinez going against Ronal Batista. This is also an anticipated bout, in addition to the main event, as the WBC World Flyweight Championship title is on the line for this bout. Recently, the CEO of Matchroom Boxing has also revealed a three-year extension of the broadcast deal with ‘best in the world’ DAZN.

Julio Cesar Martinez vs. Ronal Batista: Physical Attributes

Martinez is a 28-year-old Mexican boxer, who’s currently the WBC World Flyweight Champion. He stands at 5 feet and 2 inches in height, with a reach of 64 inches, using his orthodox stance during his fights. ‘El Rey’ has been boxing as a pro boxer since 2015, and in his career of almost 8 years, he’s won over 19 bouts, out of which he’s won 14 via KO and has lost only 2 bouts. So he’s won the fight by KO with a fierce number of 60.87 %.

On the other hand, his opponent, Ronal Batista is the 26-year-old Panamanian boxer. He will be challenging Martinez for the WBC World Flyweight title who stands tall at 5 feet and 4 inches, and he also uses the orthodox stance to come forth victorious in his bouts.

Batista turned pro back in 2016, and in the span of 7 years, he’s participated in 17 bouts. Out of which, he’s won 9 fights by KOs in a total of 15 fights, and has lost only 2 fights in his career. He holds the fierce 52.49% of KO power according to his fighting record.

Additional facts about Martinez and Batista

Both fighters are done with their Face-off this Wednesday, and both of them are looking excited to face each other this Saturday. Now, this bout will be Martinez’s fifth title fight, since he’s won the belt in 2019. He has been the World Champion for 3 and a half years now, and he also seemed confident about this match-up as well.

Now Batista is still a young fighter, who’s still working his way up to become well-known as a boxer. And this fight is important for him as this will place him in front of the limelight. Currently, he has 540 followers on Instagram, and there’s a chance these numbers will see a boost after his fight is concluded on May 6th.
