Recently, both Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney were in attendance at the same party. Reportedly, taking advantage of his rival’s presence, Stevenson sent a message to the unified Lightweight champion. The message had a similar tone to his previous claims towards Haney, it asked him to finally put the pen to paper and accept the fight.

It is to be noted that Stevenson has repeatedly maintained the narrative that Haney is actively ducking him. He has previously stated that if Haney doesn’t agree he will force him to either fight or abandon the titles. Boxing commentator Micheal Benson shared that Stevenson sent Haney a bottle along with a message board. The board read, “Sign the contract”.

Haney’s frustration boils over; Stevenson keeps pushing

Similar to the previous times, Haney expressed his frustration towards Stevenson once again. Haney wrote a fuming message as he left nothing unsaid. He called Stevenson’s actions “Clown s**t”. He further called out Shakur’s manager and Top Rank Boxing’s Bob Arum. Haney called Stevenson’s stunts to be mere “Just clout chasing”. Moreover, he pointed out that if there really was a contract then they “would go into purse bids”. He acknowledged that Stevenson is mandatory and so it doesn’t make sense for him to dodge the 25-year-old.

Haney said that if Shakur Stevenson really wants to fight then he should relay his intentions to his promoters. However, till then Haney wants Stevenson off his hair. Unsurprisingly, Stevenson was quick in his response as he replied to the champion. He took a jab at Haney as he wrote, “Finally you speak for yourself”.
