It seems someone heard what fans wanted to see so desperately. It’s been two years since Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano faced off and created history. Theirs became the first-ever women’s fight to headline at the iconic Madison Square Garden. Ever since, fans have been calling out for a rematch.

Now, per the latest available news, the two undisputed champions will be meeting again. Only, this time, the rematch will take place far south. Incoming news reports reveal that Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor will line up at the event headlined by the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson exhibition. It is scheduled for July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. So unlike the first fight, they might not be entering history on their own. But still, the event, where their bout features as the co-main fight, carries the weight of historical proportions. However, some of the fans were not too happy about this development.

On her X/Twitter handle, ‘The Real Deal’ wrote how she had promised her fans a rematch with Katie Taylor. She wanted it to be a twelve-round (each lasting 3 minutes) fight. However, the Irish champion insisted on continuing with the standard ten-round (of 2 minutes each) format. So Serrano mentioned that since Taylor’s title was at stake, it was decided to follow what the light welterweight champion demanded.

‘The Real Deal’ said, “I believe I won our first fight, but I didn’t get the decision. This time, I’m not leaving it to the judges. No more, sweet Serrano. War mentality activated. Undoubtedly, as one of the users pointed out, the Taylor-Serrano fight is a match of matches. Two pioneers of women’s boxing are clashing once again. Both icons might have a lot in common in terms of legacy. However, Katie Taylor will be 38 when the match occurs. Then it’s her undisputed title that’ll be on the line. So with her exceptional amateur record, followed by a path-breaking professional journey, probably a lot more could be at stake for her than her Puerto Rican counterpart.
