You know I like the fight, um I like I like Ryan’s style, I always have um personally, uh, just knowing when after I watched his last fight and uh knowing Rollie, you know, I mean, I love that Rollie and Isaac Cruz is is a heck of a fight, but I was really interested in seeing Rollie and um and Ryan Garcia as a matchup personally…” he said. Then Thurman spoke at length about some basic differences between ‘KingRy’ and Devin Haney.

Taking up the current issues hovering around the young boxer from California, Keith Thurman suggested that Ryan Garcia needs to find balance and inner stability for himself. Urging the nearest and dearest to shower the young boxer with their affection, he hoped that Ryan Garcia would receive the unwavering support he deserves.

Thurman also touched base with the April 20 fight. According to him, no one in the boxing world would want to see the fight cave in.

Pausing for strength, if needed

However, if Ryan Garcia felt that it was not the best of times for him to participate in a match, provided he was free from the concerns of the paycheck, then he could give precedence to his health and mind. At a later stage, once recovered, he can always make a comeback.

Of course nobody wants him to pull out of the fight, but I would have to say that um if right now it’s not the time, you know and and if he can and if he can afford to, you know, not be desperate for the paycheck, then at the end of the day, you know, you might want to think about your own health and wellness and just come back to the sport at another time…” said Thurman.

Keith Thurman is gearing for the big comeback fight on March 30. He will face Tim Tszyu at the T-Mobile Arena for a catchweight battle. 35-year-old ‘One Time’ returns to the ring after a gap of two years. After the title loss to Manny Pacquiao in 2019, he returned only in 2022 for a non-title fight with Mario Barrios. As he walks towards the twilight years of his career, the Clearwater, Florida-born boxer hopes to set the record straight by scoring a win over young Tszyu.
