In October, both Fury brothers came back home with a controversial decision against unconventional opponents. The younger brother, Tommy Fury, went against the famous Brit Youtuber KSI and ended up winning the fight via controversial unanimous decision. Now, a lot of fans couldn’t agree with this, as they thought KSI won the bout, or at least, it should’ve been a draw. Similarly, Tyson Fury also won the bout against Francis Ngannou by split decision, but the fight fans were in disagreement.
So, both brothers had eked out controversial decisions from their recent fights. However, the narrative for both victories is completely different. ‘The Gypsy King’ gave his opponent Ngannou complete credit for preparing well and exceeding expectations in his debut boxing fight. Whereas, with KSI, Tyson Fury stated that Tommy ‘TNT’ didn’t have enough experience to execute a knockout. Well, it’s safe to say this didn’t sit well with KSI’s coach, Alexis Demetriades.

KSI’s coach calls out Tyson Fury for his remark
In a recent interview with Fred Beck, Alexis Demetriades talked about their fighting strategy for Tommy Fury. He also mentioned that they executed everything very well. The team was able to control Fury’s jabs, footwork, and power punches. Moreover, Tommy couldn’t get the inside hits during the clinching.
KSI’s coach fires back at Tyson Fury’s claim on Tommy’s lack of experience to KO him…

Then he talked about how his elder brother stated that Tommy lacked experience in the fight against KSI, otherwise, he’d knock him out. To this, Demetriades said, “Didn’t he have the experience with Ngannou, he said Tommy didn’t have the experience to land a knockout punch on Jake Paul or KSI. What about him? Doesn’t he have the experience to land on Ngannou? I think you gotta give the other guy credit.”
The boxing coach believes that KSI had done a lot of hard work to not get knocked out by a seasoned professional boxer, and that is also the reason why he deserves credit. Amid this, just a couple of weeks ago, another secret strategy that KSI’s team used during the fight, came out in the limelight.
Alexis Demetriades wanted KSI to get hit in the back head
The fight between KSI and Tommy Fury didn’t turn out to be a slugfest as per the expectations it was more of a clinching game. So much so, that KSI’s corner started devising ways to use it in their favor. So, in the middle of one of the rounds, KSI’s boxing coach forgot he had a mic on, and told him t to go for the points advantage in this fight.
ksi’s corner forgot they had their mic on & here you could hear their game plan, and apparently it was to try to clinch tommy by all means & keep getting a point deduction for back of the head. pic.twitter.com/80YdDVSVPL

He said, “Stay in the clinch with him, and make him… he will hit you on the back of the head again; we know he will.” He also made sure that KSI understood the meaning behind this tactic. He continued, “If he’s going to hit you in the back of the head again, it will be another point off.”

In the end, the judges had their decision in favor of Tommy Fury via majority decision which was later changed to unanimous decision because of a calculation error. However, Demetriades believes KSI did a great job and he needs to be respected for his efforts. What are your thoughts about this? Let us know in the comments section.
