Despite the issues that marred the greater part of his career, Mike Tyson‘s imprint in the post-Muhammad Ali era of boxing remains undeniable. Debuting in 1985, he became the youngest Heavyweight champion in boxing’s history. Mike Tyson bid goodbye to the boxing ring after his last bout against Kevin McBride in 2005. Now a popular podcaster, speaker, and successful entrepreneur, his word still counts in the sport as a boxing elder. His work and the standards he set still get pulled in from unforeseen corners.

The day after tomorrow, crossover boxing will witness its biggest fight. Long-time belligerents Tommy Fury, Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s half-brother, and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul will meet at Riyadh’s Diriyah Arena. The two have been at war since 2021, though attempts to settle the arguments for good never came to fruition till now.

Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury, Diriyah Press Conference

The press conference where both camps were represented took an amusing turn at odds, even for ‘Iron’ Mike. talkSPORT’s editor Michael Benson shared a nearly half-a-minute video today of Jake Paul and Tommy Fury putting forth thoughts. So the clip starts with Fury stating, “He keeps going on and on about Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley…..Tyron Woodley was 40 years old, and Anderson Silva was nearly 50, not too far off my dad’s age, and he got took the full distance…

Jake Paul responded, “You know they could talk about all these things, MMA fighters, but you put Anderson Silva in there with Tommy Fury, Anderson Silva knocks him out. You think that Mike Tyson, I think, how old, fifty-eight? Do you think that Mike Tyson couldn’t beat Tommy Fury’s ass right now? You’re wrong. You’re absolutely wrong. “

The camera now focuses on Mike Tyson, sitting beside Devin Haney. Tickled by the conversation, the former champion could be heard faintly, “…why do I get involved in this?”

Soon fans and followers joined to share their standpoints.

Fans pour in mixed reactions to Jake Paul’s comments

@boxing420uk pointed out that Mike Tyson can still knock out both Paul and Fury within a round. Even if he fills up his stomach to the brim.

@mr_freshprincee corrected Jake Paul that former MMA champion Anderson Silva barely stands a comparison against a legend like Mike Tyson.

@sherlock9878007 wonders about the amount lay followers are willing to shell out to watch a match between sheer amateurs.

@FireSkull2023 lambasted Jake Paul. Calling him a ‘s**t house,’ he could sense fear from the latter’s gaze. According to @FireSkull2023, Paul’s followers must be totally out of their minds. Come Sunday; he would laugh heartily at them as they regret supporting Paul.

Finally, @Linea1Fury believes that the moment reigning WBC champion Tyson Fury joined, Mike Tyson went silent.

According to @pokesta42857554 Tommy Fury would win the match via unanimous decision.

@LMNO789 appealed to everyone’s sense to stay away from ‘Iron’ Mike. After all, he is just going about his day.
