Gervonta Davis is the star boxer of Mayweather Promotions. From the time Floyd Mayweather signed the 27-year-old Baltimore boxer, he has been to his fights frequently. The former five-weight division champ has always been part of Davis’ fight cheering and supporting his protege. But the recent clash of ‘Tank’ Davis witnessed Mayweather’s absence. That became the highlight of the showdown as for the past few months, the duo are not in good terms with each other.

This led to many speculations. Therefore, to end these talks, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions reflected on it.

In the post-fight press conference, the most amazing knockout machine in the current boxing world appeared with Leonard Ellerbe. However, they escaped from discussing the contract and Mayweather’s absence.
Notably, the contract of the southpaw gun is expiring with Mayweather Promotions.
Ahead of this clash, Davis had expressed that he was not willing to meet ‘Rolly’ Romero in the ring. According to Davis, since the latter was also signed with Mayweather promotions therefore Mayweather was pushing him to meet ‘Rolly’ in the ring. However, Davis had openly reflected it on Twitter, though he deleted it later.

Amid rising controversy, Mayweather had also responded to it. He told reporters, “Nothing lasts forever. I will always love Tank. I like him, love him, look at him like a son. He has to do what’s best for him. I feel like I’ve done a great job thus far, I mean just building him and putting him in good fights, great fights, and he’s steady growing, steady learning, and I’m proud of him.”
