It’s been almost 40 years since “Let’s get ready to rumble!” began echoing across venues hosting boxing matches. Next week, viewers will perhaps see and hear it out loud from the man himself at the AO Arena in Manchester, England. @ksinews_ shared the news early today that on October 14, legendary announcer Michael Buffer will make the KSI announcement.

Fans and followers just needed an excuse to pour out their emotions. There hasn’t been any letup in their reactions since the time they learned about the development. Most of the commentators rejoined on expected lines—a few, most probably Tommy Fury fans, mentioned Buffer to wrap up announcing his name. Then, some felt that he could extend a favor to other contestants in the arena.

A rumbling mention for KSI

But this fan seems rather eager for a different sort of news. He can barely wait for the organizers to announce that KSI suffered a defeat that day.

Echoing a similar line, this user believes Michael Buffer would eventually announce Tommy Fury‘s name as the fight winner.

This user dissed KSI fans for latching on to any news. Stating matter-of-factly, he said Buffer is not there because he likes KSI. He was there because he was getting paid nearly a million dollars.

It was in 1984 that Michael Buffer first used the well-known phrase, “Let’s get ready to rumble!” Subsequently, he secured a federal trademark for the expression in 1992. Interestingly, per several accounts, earnings generated by the licensing of the trademark for the phrase stood in the vicinity of $400 million. Regarding KSI and Tommy Fury, the two finally squared up to wind up the pending business that began roughly four years ago.

On November 9, 2019, the English YouTuber fought Logan Paul, who became his business partner. At that time, Tommy Fury challenged the latter for a match, but to no avail, as the Misfits Boxing boss turned it down. Both meet following Fury’s win over familiar rival Jake Paul on February 26. Though with nine wins, ‘TNT’ remains an unbeaten fight, he has to watch out for KSI’s knockout delivery. Not considering the Joe Fournier match, three out of his five contests have come via early stoppages.
