The Devin Haney–Vasiliy Lomachenko fight night is on. While the main card championship bout is on its way, other matches on the co-main and undercards concluded individually. In the Super featherweight division, Mexican boxer Oscar Valdez took on Adam Lopez. The bout lasted twelve complete rounds and ended with the former winning unanimously. For the Mexican, who comes on the back of his first professional loss to Shakur Stevenson last year, it’s a big boost up.
After he lost the WBC Super Featherweight belt to Stevenson on April 30 last year, per WBO mandate, he was supposed to fight fellow Mexican Emmanuel Navarrete on February 3. However, unfortunately, Oscar Valdez withdrew on account of injuries. The Lopez fight was the first in almost a year for the thirty-two-year-old. According to the message posted by Michael Benson, it thus clears the way for him for a title clash against Navarrete.

A narrow victory for Oscar Valdez, fans’ comment
Quite a few fans felt that Lopez wasn’t up to the mark. Then a few thought that the decision should have been made another way. Sam Aguilar could see that Adam Lopez fought like a novice. He threw a barrage of punches that barely made any connection. He needs to acquire some skills in managing his weight downward and moving on the balls of his feet while throwing a punch.
López fought like an amateur. Throwing a bunch of punches that don’t land and do hardly any damage. Can bunch of pointless Back peddling. Needs to learn how to sit on his punches when he decides to throw

One user failed to understand why Lopez moved around the ring so much. He has tons of talent but lost because of his mistakes, not because Oscar Valdez was a better fighter. The latter utilized his experience to score the victory. But still, according to Fabrice, it was a good match. Another user named Denzel Munroe feels the decision was lopsided, and the outcome should have been otherwise.

Meanwhile, one user differed from what Denzel said. According to him, it was a fair fight, and towards the end, Lopez faced difficulty controlling it. User Ryan Yang, however, appreciated Adam Lopez for displaying fortitude during the fight and persevering till the end.
