Since the weigh-in took place in San Francisco, California where Devin Haney was born, the majority of the crowd was there to throw their cheers at the feet of ‘The Dream.’ Likewise, when Prograis arrived on the dais, silence and discouraging words greeted him. For example, while he and Haney intensely stared into one another’s eyes, one could hear a provocative remark such as “And the new…” being targeted at champion Regis. However, Prograis and his coach fought back at the weigh-in.

While Prograis’ coach Evnis Tobler promised that Haney’s chin would be touched on December 9, Regis grabbed the mic and cursed the crowd. “F**k the Haneys, f**k y’all, y’all are crackheads,” he told the attendants. In this context, after talkSPORT correspondent Michael Benson shared the brief clip on X, several fans wondered if Regis was nervous ahead of the fight against Haney.
