That Francis Ngannou would not go past two rounds against Anthony Joshua was predicted. In his interview with DAZN Boxing, Joshua’s coach Ben Davidson had said that provided how ‘AJ’ was planning to approach the fight, Ngannou’s lack of experience would not carry ‘The Predator’ beyond two rounds in the ring. However, Tyson Fury had slightly different thoughts.

In Fury’s opinion, while ‘The Gypsy King’ vs. Ngannou had been a “mismatch,” ‘AJ’ vs. ‘The Predator’ was going to be a “great fight” as far as style was concerned. Therefore, Fury also believed in Ngannou’s chance at knocking out Joshua. Likewise, Ngannou’s defeat in the second round had Fury in disbelief.

Is Anthony Joshua a fresh fear unlocked for Tyson Fury?

It is not that Tyson Fury did not expect Anthony Joshua to win at all. In fact, speaking to Ariel Helwani, ‘The Gypsy King’ had said he would “like to back the former world heavyweight champion“. However, the 35-year-old lacked certainty. But, much to his surprise, Joshua stopped Ngannou early in the fight. In only the second round, as a tired Ngannou approached Joshua on slow feet, Joshua penetrated the former’s guard with a powerful cross, making Ngannou’s soul leave his body.

On that note, as IFL TV shared Fury’s reaction to Joshua’s win, a fan said, “Tyson Fury is already scared.”

Meanwhile, another argued that Fury did not want to face Anthony Joshua. In addition, they pointed out that while Joshua made Ngannou “look like a novice, ” Fury failed to hurt ‘The Predator’.

Similarly, one argued that Tyson Fury was aware of the fact that he “gave a terrible performance” against Francis Ngannou last year.

Anyway, while Tyson Fury looked to be in disbelief, following the victory, Anthony Joshua said, “It is what it is. On the road to the championship, you should always stay focused.” Although Joshua initially looked at the fight as something “good for entertainment,” he wanted “a piece” of Ngannou as soon as he watched Fury’s battle against ‘The Predator’. Finally, ‘AJ’ motivated Francis to continue boxing. With that being said, what is your reaction to Ngannou vs. Joshua? Do you think Fury is scared of ‘AJ’? Let us know in the comments below.
