Mario Barrios Sends Savage Two-Word Message to Heartbroken Fans After Announcing Girlfriend’s Pregnancy

Mario Barrios remains in the headlines for his upcoming, high-profile matchup. However, in recent days, his personal life, too has been engulfed by the media buzz. This time it has to do with his girlfriend, and a certain section of the internet being “jealous.”

On Instagram, the welterweight fighter uploaded a carousel post on the 9th of April. In it, the first picture broke the news of his girlfriend, Omayra Liliane Figueroa’s pregnancy. Along with the picture from what looked like an announcement party, the fighter posted visuals of his whereabouts. Amidst the snow, with his husky, he seemed zen as he is bracing to welcome a new addition to his family. Since then, the internet has entered a frenzy discussing how beautiful his girlfriend is. Now, the fighter, proud of his fitness influencer girlfriend, has a message to all those people who remain “heartbroken,” since they made their relationship public.

On X, boxing videographer, Sean Zittel shared an excerpt from an interview the 28-year-old fighter undertook recently. In it, he was nudged to comment on how the fighter has grown into himself lately. The reporter even roped in his girlfriend, Figueroa, asking what he had to say to those who remained jealous of the catch he’s made in Omayra Figueroa, especially considering their recent pregnancy. In a swift stance, Barrios quipped, “F*ck em.”

In the Fight Hype interview, he added, “I’m just continuing to be me. Continue to stay true to my character. You know from style to you know the way I present myself in front of the cameras and everything.”

Figueroa, Latina by descent, is a fitness trainer and Instagram influencer with almost 46,000 followers. She has an MBA, is a nutritionist, and has been a fan-favorite for a while now.

‘El Azteca’, 28-2 has a big fight coming up. Barrios is slated to defend his WBC interim welterweight title against Fabian Andres Maidana. The May 4 fight is rooted in the undercard card of the highly anticipated, Canelo Alvarez vs. Jaime Munguia. It will happen at the iconic T-Mobile Arena of Las Vegas, Nevada. Ahead of the fight, the fighter has some interesting notes to convey about his upcoming in-ring stint.

The news portal, British Boxing News highlighted a discussion with him regarding his upcoming Maidana fight. Barrios explained, “I’m happy to have this opportunity and I’m excited to be back in the ring again. It’s huge to be on a card like this, especially as the co-main event on Cinco de Mayo weekend. It’s hard to put into words. I’m motivated, focused and getting ready for May 4.”

His weight division, welterweight is one of the hottest and most competitive divisions today. It holds names like Errol Spence Jr, Jaron Ennis, and Vergil Ortiz Jr. Describing the significance of his fight in this climate, he noted, “The welterweight division is stacked. We have a really exciting welterweight title fight opening the card with Stanionis and Maestre, who are both tremendous fighters. I have to make sure that I handle business with Fabian first.”

Where does he go from here? He revealed, “If everything goes our way, then I want those big unification fights and whoever is the best in the division. I’ve always taken on the best opponents and I’m going to continue to do that.”

Through it all, he revealed that he’s going to have a daughter, and that’s keeping him on his toes. He admitted, “I’m very motivated because it’s about more than just me now. I’m getting ready to have a daughter and it’s a different kind of motivation. I can’t wait to give everyone another great show.”
