WBO female super featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer might have an impressive undefeated pro resume of 14-0, but she isn’t busy protecting that. Instead, she wants to test herself against every adversary without the fear of losing her undefeated run.

She recently became a world champion by handing Ewa Brodnicka her first loss in a 10-round clinical showdown on October 31. That said, Mayer is currently considered as one of the top-gunners of the women’s division. Boasting the perfect record and a world title, she has a lot more challenges ahead. However, Mayer appears ready with her answers.

In her recent social media posts, the 30-year-old has clarified that she is not just fighting for the belts. According to Mayer, the sport in itself excites her, and that’s the sole reason for her activeness in it.

Mikaela Mayer is of a different breed

Mayer believes that a world title and a perfect boxing record are just necessary to bring more revenue and money to the platter. Hence, she claims to need it, but at the same time she rules it out from her list of priorities.

Turning to Twitter she wrote, “I really don’t care about belts tho. And I don’t care about my record. I’m here to fight the big fights, belts and record just milk you more money which I’m DOWN for but also f*** it.”

In her following tweet, Mayer has vowed to remain active in the sport. She considers the sport of boxing as entertainment. Thus, she doesn’t want to protect her record.

Following her recent win, Mayer is now being touted to go against several other champions. From Katie Taylor to Terry Harper, all the challenges make sense for her. However, the Top Rank prodigy will seemingly take some time before announcing her return.

That said, the fight fans are already demanding to see her back in action against any of the A-listers from the women’s division. If things fall in place, it won’t be long until we see Mayer get back inside the squared circle.
