Mike Tyson Details the Letter He Received From Tupac’s Mother While in Prison

Mike Tyson and Tupac Shakur were two of the most iconic figures of their generation. In a recent episode of Tyson’s podcast Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight champion sat down with Loud Records chairman and founder Steve Rifkind. The trio had a candid conversation about various topics including DMX, Wu-Tang Clan, and Akon. During the podcast, Tyson revealed a story about when Tupac came to visit him in prison. ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ also shared the details of a letter he received from Tupac’s mother.

In the podcast, Tyson shared a story about Tupac visiting him in prison. He said that three months after he was in prison in Indiana, Tupac’s mother wrote to him. He went further and shared the details in the letter.

Tyson said, “… 3 months later I am in prison in Indiana his mother writes and said is it possible that my son met you, and you got him in a club?” Pac’s mother relayed his intention of visiting Tyson in prison, so she asked if that would be alright in the letter.

Tyson said that he agreed and soon after, Tupac came to visit him in the visiting room of the prison.

He added that everyone ‘lost their minds’ when Tupac arrived.

… once he came to the visiting room, people lost their minds. White guys, everybody started playing on crazy, and then he started, he got on the table” Tyson said. He continued,” … come down right now, please come down right now. Yeah, he is talking to the police, you know how Pac is. He is running around.”

Tyson also spoke about the impact that Tupac had on the people around him. He said that he was loved by everybody.
