The streaming service Hulu was all set to release the series MIKE on August 25. The platform made the announcement in June and they had cast the Moonlight actor Trevante Rhodes as Mike Tyson. MIKE was supposed to be an eight-episode show and promised to explore the life and struggle of the former heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson.

However, recently in a startling statement, Tyson announced that his “life rights options” expired years ago and that neither Hulu nor anyone belonging to their “supercilious team” engaged with Tyson for any sort of negotiations.

Tyson said, “My life rights option expired years ago. Hulu nor any of their supercilious team ever tried to engage in any negotiations with this Black man. In their eyes I am still just a n*****r on the auction block ready to be sold for their profit without any regard for my worth or my family.”

Tyson has voiced himself on Twitter and called Hulu out in public. According to Mike Tyson, his life rights were blatantly stolen and he condemned such a mode of behavior to be “egregiously greedy”. The following is what Tyson tweeted:
