Mike Tyson’s Son, Amir Tyson, Stands in Solidarity With Those Affected by the Earthquake in Turkey and Syria

A devastating earthquake rocked southern and central Turkey on February 6, 2023. This earthquake which had a Mercalli Intensity of IX (magnitude of at least Mww 7.8), caused widespread destruction across Turkey and Syria. This incident sent shockwaves across the rest of the world, with multiple celebrities and other notable names standing in solidarity with the citizens of these countries. In the same vein, entrepreneur and boxing commentator, Amir Tyson, son of heavyweight champ, Mike Tyson, took to social media to pen a heartfelt message to the people.
With the brutal effects of the quake still visible, and the death toll rising, it has been reported that this is one of the strongest instrumentally recorded earthquakes to hit Turkey. Notably, according to reports, the death toll is currently over 4400. As per Reuters, talking about the situation, U.N. resident coordinator El-Mostafa Benlamlih, said, “The infrastructure is damaged. The roads that we used to use for humanitarian work are damaged. We have to be creative in how to get to the people. But we are working hard.”

In an Instagram story, Tyson shared another individual’s post depicting the devastating effects of the quake. He further wrote, “Prayers go out to everyone affected by this.” Additionally, the original poster also included a ‘GoFundMe link’ to help those affected by the disaster.
Amir Tyson was not the only one who extended support
Many notable names from the world of sports took to social media to stand in solidarity with the people of Turkey and Syria. Houston Rockets star Alperen Sengun expressed unfeigned grief at the saddening turn of events.
