American Youtuber Logan Paul has emerged as a global icon over the years. He constantly strives to reinvent himself through a range of activities, as evidenced by his social media accounts. He is renowned for shelling out enormous sums on ostentatious items that appeal to him. Paul, though, was once duped when he paid millions for something that turned out to be a phony.
Logan Paul is an avid player of the Pokemon game, which once swept the globe. It appears that in December 2021, ‘The Maverick’ revealed in an Instagram post that he had purchased a sealed box of the first-edition base set of Pokemon cards for $3.5 million, which was the “only known” purchase. Before making this purchase, Paul had also consulted professionals.

However, it was discovered that G.I. Joe trade cards, not Pokemon cards, were inside the sealed package when the YouTuber opened them in front of experts. After that, a fansite called Pokebeach, and a YouTuber named Rattle, looked into the cards’ legitimacy and concluded that it was implausible. They learned that it was being sold on eBay by a Canadian seller who appeared to be using a murky account.
What happened when Logan Paul contacted the seller of the case?
It was also revealed that the box Paul paid $3.5 million for had only ever been sold for $72,000. Paul returned to Bolillo Lajan San, a well-known card collector, the person who had sold him the cards. The merchant acknowledged that the case was a fake on his Instagram story and expressed his gratitude to @rattlepokemon and the Pokemon community for revealing the scam.

He further wrote, “I have reimbursed Logan his 3.5 however, we will see how quickly I am made whole from the sellers who brought it to me already authenticated in the coming days or if it turns into a drawn out scenario.”
