Laila Ali, daughter of the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, is a successful retired professional boxer and TV personality. Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Laila Ali is a devoted mother and philanthropist. She frequently tries to use her fame and platform to advocate against important causes of Parkinson’s disease and childhood hunger. Laila Ali once again used her platform to promote something good for her fans.

Ali was born in 1977 in Florida and notably grew up in a family of boxers. So it wasn’t a surprise that she gravitated to the sport. She began training at the age of 18. Then she went on to have an impressive boxing career with a record of 24 wins, including 21 knockouts, and zero losses. Ali has also appeared on various TV shows, including Dancing with the Stars and Celebrity Apprentice.

Muhammad Ali’s daughter recently shared a video on her Instagram Story that encourages her fans to grow their food. In the video uploaded by gardeningmakemehappy, a woman teaches how to home-grow green onions. She shows how easy they are to grow and can yield multiple harvests from one plant.

She clearly believes that growing food at home can be a great way to combat the negative effects of processed food. Homegrown food is typically fresher and healthier than market food and allows you to control the ingredients that go into your meals. Not long ago, Laila Ali also tried to spread awareness of controversial food preservative that is linked to cancer.

Growing your food also has a positive impact on the environment. As it reduces the carbon footprint associated with transporting and packaging processed foods. The woman in the video explained how to propagate green onions using a small cup of water and two toothpicks. By placing the white bulb of the onion in the water, you can grow new sprouts that can be replanted in the soil.

Furthermore, the woman shared that she only planted three green onions and had fresh produce all summer long. Laila Ali’s message of self-sufficiency is an important one, and it’s inspiring to see her encourage her fans to take control of their food sources.
