Even before the cancellation, Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis came under scrutiny for being a clear mismatch. A lightweight champion versus a cruiserweight contender. Still, anticipating fireworks, many fans went ahead and purchased tickets for the November 14 Netflix card. Now that the show is finally over, confusion over the money spent on tickets must have surfaced. However, as a responsible promotion, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) took immediate steps to refund the ticket amounts.

The Jake Paul-Gervonta Davis collapse: A ticket tale and what follows

Unlike previous Jake Paul cards, which almost always generated blockbuster gates, enthusiasm for this fight appeared more subdued. Still, this isn’t about fluctuating ticket sales. The point was mainly to assess how many tickets were sold and gauge the scale of potential refund requests.

As of October 24, according to an update shared by Boxing Tickets, sales data read, “MVP Presents: Jake vs. Tank. Fri • Nov 14, 2025 • 5:00 PM, Kaseya Center, Miami, FL. Since Oct 4th, Tickets Listed: 6255 (📉 by 759), Value of Listed: $3,859,330 (📉 by $2,243,910).”

It’s commendable that Paul and MVP are taking corrective measures promptly.

What may interest fans even more now is who Jake Paul will fight next. An impressive roster of names circulated. Initially, Ryan Garcia topped the list, but it soon emerged that he might walk away as negotiations for a title showdown against champion Mario Barrios near completion.

Anthony Joshua, whom Jake Paul called out earlier this year, also surfaced as a possibility. But the former heavyweight champion faces the same obstacle as Garcia. Both fight on DAZN. Whereas Paul has a tie-up with Netflix. A cross-platform matchup seems unlikely for now.

So the spotlight shifted to two familiar MMA stars with boxing experience; Nate Diaz and Francis Ngannou. Paul has already faced Diaz, leaving Ngannou as the more likely candidate. Several MMA analysts believe that, since both Paul and Ngannou are under the PFL banner, such a fight could realistically happen.

For now, though, much remains to be seen in the coming days.
