Nate Diaz stands firm on his assertion that he won his boxing stint against Jake Paul, despite what the judges’ scorecard had to say. Now, in furthering this argument of his, he has also stated that he was not scared of the ‘Problem Child’ on fight night. Why? Diaz has a specific point to make.

Last year, in August, Diaz undertook his debut boxing fight against influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul. The fight since its inception has been marred by controversy, especially given how relentless the former MMA fighter was in his verbal jabs toward Paul. However, on fight night, the fight had been borderline in favor of Paul since the beginning. When the judges scored unanimously in favor of Paul, Diaz protested and claimed that he had won the fight. On the precipice of his second boxing event, Diaz took another dig at his former opponent.

“Easiest fight,” says Nate Diaz

Speaking to FightHub TV, the 38-year-old fighter, who once ruled the MMA scene, continued his stance regarding the Paul fight. He noted that he was not in his best shape and was lazy, yet he found the fight to be not that challenging. “That’s the biggest I’ve ever been, the f*cking lazy I ever was. And it wasn’t as hard; he wasn’t scary enough. So it was not hard enough to give a f*ck about. I still think I win,” said Diaz.

In their fight, Diaz performed relatively well, despite what many predicted would be a one-sided beating of him. However, in round 5, he was dropped to the canvas, and from there began his downfall. About the same, he explained, “I still think the last two rounds out of the whole fight… and then sh*t done deal, and it got real easy.”

“I think that was the easiest fight I ever had,” he quipped. While that was his maiden boxing bout, he is also set to fight 1-0 Miami-based boxer Jorge Masvidal, who was last seen in the ring in a fight against Joseph Benjamin.

Diaz vs. Paul Rematch: What do we know so far?

As soon as the fight elapsed, Diaz sought a rematch from his 27-year-old opponent in a boxing format, the same as their first combat face-off. However, Paul later agreed to a rematch, but not in boxing but in the octogen.

Paul also signed with the Professional Fighters League last year to make his MMA debut later this year. While the opponent for that debut is still unknown, PFL has confirmed that they are rooting for a fight between Paul and Stockton-native Diaz. Last October, the promotions company posted on X, “For the record: Jake Paul will not be boxing Nate Diaz again.” “Nate Diaz and Jake Paul have received an offer from @PFLMMA to rematch in MMA in the SmartCage. Jake Paul has accepted the offer,” the post further read.

To date, there has been no clarification on this front. However, the proposition of a rematch between them is still completely off the table. Who do you think will win an MMA fight between the two? Let us know your picks in the comments section below.
