On the occasion of celebrating his 92nd birthday, promoter Don King recently announced an event titled ‘Only in America 92 Celebration.’ As per the official statement by his team, the event card includes an action-packed night with Adrien Broner initially facing Chris Howard for the ‘People’s Championship’ on November 4th this year. In addition, since Broner was to pay tribute to his late trainer Mike Stafford with this fight, the excitement was at its peak.
However, due to unknown circumstances, as of now, Broner vs. Howard has been postponed to December 2nd. Although Broner remains determined for his upcoming fight, a number of fans expressed frustration since they had already purchased tickets and made other arrangements. In June this year, Broner made his return to the ring with a fight against Bill Hutchinson. Going the entire distance of 10 rounds, ‘The Problem’ managed to win the bout via UD. After the win over Hutchinson, Broner lost his mentor and trainer Mike Stafford in September. Hence, besides being yet another opportunity to prove his dedication and skills, Broner’s next fight is a matter of great importance since it provides him with a chance to honor Stafford in public.
Taking to Instagram, in his latest post, the 34-year-old said, “I can’t wait to [for] my next fight after I win I’m doing this dance #Dec #AboutBillions #RIPCoachMike.” However, several fans were not happy about the postponement. One fan felt Broner was “scared to fight anybody good.” In their opinion, he’s “washed up.”

Finally, one asked Broner to fight Rolando Romer. “Please fight Rolly, you’ll beat him easily,” they said.
After such a backlash, hopefully, Broner will face Howard in December without any further postponement. Although he is 34, Broner hopes to win a world title soon in the sport. With his upcoming bout with Howard, one will be able to tell whether or not ‘The Problem’ still has what it takes to be a champion.
