For his third fight this year, Jake Paul will enter the ring yet again on the 15th of December. He comes riding high from a unanimous decision victory against Nate Diaz in early August. In a fight that dominated the news ever since its inception, Paul managed to register the win in a fashion that was hardly smooth. However, the hindrance was not attributed to Paul’s boxing prowess but to the show, Diaz put in the ring.

In the wake of this victory, came a question as to when Paul will headline another fight. In response came the fighter himself declaring that he would fight yet again in the middle of December. However, he did not allude as to who his opponent would be. With just 7 weeks left for fight night, the fighter was accorded the responsibility of choosing his next opponent to his fans.

“Who should I fight?” asks Jake Paul

Taking to his X account, ‘Problem Child’ generated a poll asking his followers if he should fight a boxer or an MMA fighter on the 15th of December. Joining in the buzz for the Orlando fight, 80% of his followers voted in favor of a boxer. While the poll might have given the bigger picture of the upcoming fight, the replies engaged in a nuanced discourse.

A fan suggested an opponent that would rather be above the age of 48. Possibly a reference to the fighter’s bout against legendary fighter Anderson Silva a year from today. Despite having won through a unanimous decision over the legend, he was subjected to backlash for fighting someone as senior in age as Silva.

Another user countered the premise of the question itself. For someone who poses himself as a boxer, the fan wondered if he should fight an MMA fighter. Jake Paul has however led the way in cross-over fights with a good number of his opponents being MMA fames—for instance, even Nate Diaz.

Another user simplified the entire conversation. They suggested to Paul to fight an opponent in the same format they locate their prowess in.

Another fight suggested Francis Ngannou. The Cameroonian fight proved his might against Tyson Fury over the weekend despite losing through a split decision.

A user echoed what the realm has been desperately asking: A fight against KSI. Despite the latter proposing the matchup on multiple occasions, Paul has hardly shown any interest in the same.

As we await the disclosure of Jake Paul’s next opponent, it is interesting to see who his potential opponents could be.

Who has thrown their names in the hat?

Problem Child does not have a shortage of opponents he could fight in December. Multiple fighters, mostly his previous opponents have shown their interest in fighting him. One remains Nate Diaz. As his fight against Paul elapsed, he received an offer for a rematch in an MMA format in return for $1o million. However, Diaz showed no interest in it. But when Paul announced his December fight with an unnamed opponent, Diaz threw his name through a poster on his Instagram.

Next comes Tommy Fury, who gave Paul his career’s first loss. Through a split decision, Fury emerged victorious against Paul in their late February fight this year. When fight night ended, Paul called for a rematch. However, both fighters got busy with their respective fights. And there came no clarifications on that front.

KSI, Paul’s biggest rival in both the influencer realm and combat has on multiple occasions challenged the 26-year-old fighter. After not getting an apt response from him, KSI went ahead to fight Tommy Fury in August this year. This was in pursuit of proving that he was better than Paul indirectly. However, he lost to the British fighter in a controversial decision.
