At a panel, on the occasion of the upcoming film Fear, directed by Deon Taylor, Floyd Mayweather delivered a talk about his story and what made him the ‘TBE’ of boxing. Since Mayweather is working alongside Deon Taylor for his own docuseries, ‘Money’ was present at the panel. While speaking about what made him fearless in and outside the boxing ring, Mayweather alluded to his life events. On one hand, he cited his father leaving them as a teenager, and on the other, he referred to his mother, a strong black woman who made him.

“You guys [have] never seen my mother. You know, I’m ready to tell my story. And I don’t just want to tell, I want to show the good, the bad, and the ugly. Because there are ups and downs. It’s a roller coaster ride. That’s what made me – a strong black woman. There is nothing in the world better than a black woman,” stated ‘TBE’

Mayweather just wants his story to be told. He intends to portray nothing but the truth. According to Mayweather, to see the truth, one has to acknowledge that he came from nothing. He spoke about what made him different from other athletes and what he expects to be shown.

Floyd Mayweather speaks about glorifying a black man shaping his child

In his docuseries, Mayweather wants to glorify a black man teaching his child his skills and making him a champion in life. In addition, ‘Money’ shed light on his early life. “I want the world to know the real, the truth. The truth is I come from nothing. Seven of us, one bedroom, nothing. We don’t glorify a black man taking his child, teaching them his skills and putting them in a position to be a champion.”

There are not many athletes – that brought himself [themselves] out of contracts and became his [their] own bosses,” he added by saying.
