Andrew Tate has earned himself an almost cult-like following through social media, reaching the level of fame he couldn’t previously with kickboxing. Almost anybody who follows the Tate brothers, Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate, knows about their fighting career as well. With over 76 victories under his belt, Tate had a great career as a 4-time kickboxing world champion. But not a lot of people know about his career as an MMA fighter.

This is most probably because of how short it was and ‘Top G’ doesn’t mention it often in his videos. In total, Tate has fought thrice in MMA, out of which he lost one of them. Recently, a clip from one of his MMA bouts went viral.

The title of the video reveals that it was one of the fights of young 20-year-old Tate. Tate seemed to be struggling a lot against the grappler. If we consider his background as a kickboxer then it is understandable for him to have a hard time against an opponent primarily excelling in grappling.

The fight was full of suspense as ‘Top G’ despite not having much experience in the MMA, was giving his opponent the fight of his life. Throughout the fight, Tate struggled to keep a distance between himself and his opponent. But his opponent appeared to be experienced and didn’t allow Tate any breather, always charging in at any sight of an opening. Former UFC champion Demetrious Johnson once broke down the boxing style of Andrew Tate.

Tate’s regret for not pursuing a career in MMA

Andrew Tate has previously expressed regret for not pursuing a career in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) instead of kickboxing. He holds a lot of experience as a kickboxer and also has some experience in mixed martial arts (MMA).

Before his arrest, Tate admitted last year that the MMA world has changed a lot since he competed and that he would have started with MMA and looked to get into the UFC if he could redo his career. He says that there are no big shows left now as compared to earlier. Tate had trained under coach Amir Subasic at the Storm Gym in Luton when launching his career after moving to the UK.
