Oscar Valdez apparently has a streak of sustaining severe injuries every time he entered the ring. The boxer has had two big matches in his career ending with him getting severely injured by his opponents. The last was his fight against Scott Quigg in 2018 wherein he did win the fight but went home with a broken jaw.  Now, in his recent bout against Emanuel Navarrete, he had the worst possible outcome.

A defeat and an injury. Saturday night was not easy on the boxer. The super featherweight championship belt fight against Emanuel Navarrete saw him lose the chance to secure it. His fight was made harder by Emanuel’s punches that came in four-, five- and even six-punch combinations. In the end, Emanuel retained his WBO title through UD of 116-112, 118-110, and 119-109. But this was not it, Valdez now also needs to heal from his injury along with the loss served to him.
