Golden Boy Kingpin Oscar De La Hoya is eager to stage his in-ring comeback, as he claims to have undergone a two-month training camp already. A few months back, the rumors of his return took the boxing world by storm, and now, it finally seems to meet fruition as De La Hoya has opened up on his plans, including his desire to facing a “big name” UFC fighter.
The radar further expands as De La Hoya is also open to facing UFC chief Dana White. The four-division titleholder connected with Lance Pugmire and revealed that he had a sparring session.
“I have been training for the last two months, I mean it’s no secret and I feel amazing. I mean I sparred the other day and I swear to you I didn’t know how good I was, I had forgotten how good I was,” said Oscar De La Hoya.

After calling time on his 16-year career in 2008, De La Hoya became a boxing promoter. That said, he billed the old-era boxers’ supremacy over the current generation and teased his massive return.
He said, “I mean, imagine if I go up against a big name fighter from the UFC or something or a big name fighter, whoever. I don’t care who it is. I mean, I always fought the very best. But I wouldn’t mind doing it again. I just have to make sure that my health is okay.”
Meanwhile, Oscar De La Hoya laughed at the idea of facing the UFC President and said, “I think he will have to lose a few pounds. This guy (Dana White) looks big.”
Oscar De La Hoya- When can he return and against whom?
While Golden Boy Promotions already has a busy schedule chalked up, De La Hoya may not rush with his return. But he won’t struggle to find a relevant contender. The concept of celebrity boxing and exhibition bouts has seen a meteoric rise in recent times. And De La Hoya can possibly draw one of the biggest PPV numbers.

That brings several relevant matchups ahead for him. A rematch against Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition would allure a lot of fans. However, a crossover with UFC stars is also a massive possibility, and De La Hoya can opt for anything he wants at this stage.
