Tyson Fury is considered by many as one of the best heavyweight boxers in the world. He has remained undefeated throughout 33 bouts with over 24 K.O.s, even against some of the best in the division. Although he is currently only the WBC Champion, he is looking to have a shot at becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the world. The fight that will probably take place in late December or early January next year will provide him a shot at greatness as one of the boxers will have their names in history.

Recently a post surfaced on Facebook which shook the boxing enthusiasts. ESPN ringside shared the collage of Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis along with Fury. They also shared the record of all the boxers in the collage.

In the caption they asked, “Where does Tyson Fury rank on the list of all-time heavyweights?”. The question was sure to touch a lot of nerves as Sportsman.com’s recent list also caused a huge debate among the fans. Does Tyson Fury belong on the list? Fans answer the burning question

Comparing Fury to heavyweight legends like Ali, Tyson, and Frazier has stirred up a range of opinions from fans. Some argue that Fury falls short of being considered a true heavyweight great. They point to his limited activity at the top level as a factor that diminishes his claim to greatness. One fan stated that Fury should be placed, “Behind all of them.”

He pointed out that ‘The Gypsy King’ hasn’t shown much activity to be counted amongst the greats, which seems to be more or less true as Fury hasn’t fought once since his last fight in December. However, he is soon going to fight Francis Ngannou on October 28th.

Another fan also shared a similar opinion, he stated, “Definitely below all of those legends in the picture.” Meanwhile, a fan complimented the talent of the British boxer, however, he also pointed out, “His legacy is Deontay Wilder. That’s really it”.

Someone else wrote in the same vein, “Outside of Deontay Wilder, who has he beaten of significant worth?”. One fan pointed out that Fury is a “quality fighter” and thus “he’s up there and it’s on merit.” Furthermore, he added that if Fury had 10 more quality fights, it would cement his name on the top five forever.
