In a significant move, Amazon Prime Video and Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) have inked a multiyear deal, bringing top-notch pay-per-view boxing to U.S. audiences. PBC, founded in 2015, boasts a roster of 150+ fighters across various divisions, with matchups in 2023 including David Benavídez vs. Caleb Plant and Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia. So, when is the deal coming into effect?

Prime Video will exclusively distribute PBC’s pay-per-view events in the U.S., beginning in March 2024. Access is open to everyone and not just Prime members. Furthermore, Prime Video will exclusively stream a PBC Championship Boxing series, showcasing top matchups. Interestingly the first event for the collaboration is already showing much promise. ESPN’s Mike Coppinger gave an intriguing update about the March 30 event.

PBC’s bold move to showcase fights on Amazon Prime video

Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) is set to break new ground by showcasing two preliminary fights on Amazon Prime Video as a prelude to the March 30 pay-per-view (PPV) event. Notably, the main attraction will feature Tim Tszyu– Keith Thurman, supported by the co-main event, Rolly Romero vs. Isaac Cruz.

According to Mike Coppinger, PBC has strategically designed this approach. Julio Cesar Martinez is set to defend his WBC 112-pound title against Angelino Cordova in the preliminary co-feature. Coppinger’s sources also indicate the addition of another compelling fight to the lineup.

The PPV lineup promises a night of high-stakes action, with Erislandy Lara defending his WBA middleweight title against Michael Zerafa. The event will kick off with a captivating clash between Sebastian Fundora and Serhii Bohachuk. So it appears that the fans will be able to enjoy some of the action on Prime Video, except the main fights which will still be PPV.  In the meantime, it appears Martinez already has an opponent ready to challenge him.

Dalakian wants to fight Julio Cesar Martinez for the title

Artem Dalakian, the determined flyweight, harbors aspirations of becoming a unified champion by year-end. His journey, however, hinges on the decisions of fellow divisional titlists.

Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez, currently holding the IBF and WBO titles, solidified his claim as the best flyweight. Despite suggestions of moving back to junior bantamweight, Dalakian remains unfazed, stating, “I hope he stays, and I will wait for my chance to fight for the unification.”

Dalakian’s focus is on his mandatory defense against Seigo Yuri Akui in Osaka, Japan. With a win, Dalakian aims to break the deadlock in his six-year title reign, eyeing a clash with WBC champion Julio Cesar Martinez for a shot at two belts.
