As per the latest updates, Manny Pacquiao is seeking a potential comeback against Conor Benn at age 44. While Pacquiao remains retired from professional boxing, Conor Benn, who failed the VADA drug test last year, is expected to return to the WBC. According to Sean Gibbons, the representative of MP Promotions, “Pacquiao is back in training” and hoping to make a return against Benn at 44.

TalkSPORT correspondent Michael Benson, alluding to journalist Kevin lole, in a tweet disclosed the news. He said, “Manny Pacquiao’s MP Promotions rep Sean Gibbons has stated that Pacquiao is now back in training and seeking a fight to bring him out of retirement at age 44. Gibbons has welcomed a clash with Conor Benn – talks ongoing despite Benn’s positive drugs tests situation.”

Losing against Yordenis Ugas in 2021, Manny Pacquiao retired from professional boxing. Provided Pacquiao’s performance in his last fight and his present age, boxing fans are unwilling to see him return, and that too against someone as young as Benn. With 62 professional wins in 72 fights and a 54.17% KO rate as per BoxRec, Pacquiao is certainly one of the best boxers to ever grace the ring. Hence, fans would prefer if Pacquiao stayed retired since they believe he has already proved everything.

A fan named Steve Spevack spoke about having “love and massive respect for Pacquiao“, but was astonished after learning about his next opponent.

Likewise, A.S. felt ‘Pacman’ had nothing to prove. They urged him to stay retired.
