When Mike Tyson was only 13, a matured Teddy Atlas held the former at gunpoint. Atlas, who had trained Tyson, considered himself to be a big and strong man against young Mike. Later, in HotBoxin’ with Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight champion of the world, spoke about it. In spite of the incident, Teddy Atlas established himself as one of the best trainers in boxing.

Recently, Atlas gave his verdict on Anthony Joshua, taking on Joe Joyce in a potential fight. According to Atlas, Joshua should not step inside the ring with Joyce.There is no way on God’s Earth – no way – that Joshua and his promoter are getting within,” said Teddy. Atlas believes Joyce has a “chin of granite” and would beat ‘AJ’ in the ring.

Joshua, who has suffered two back-to-back losses against Usyk, needs a win. However, Atlas feels Joshua would not stand a chance with Joyce. “They wouldn’t get within a ten-foot pole of Joyce in that boxing ring. No way. I’ve been saying this guy’s a player. This guy’s got a chin of granite,” added Atlas by saying. Among others, Atlas formerly coached ‘Kid Dynamite‘.

Years later, Mike Tyson confirmed the story on HotBoxin’. While Atlas was around 27 or 28, Tyson was only 13 at the time. According to Tyson, Atlas felt he was a big and strong man who could easily scare ‘Kid Dynamite’. However, Tyson had other thoughts in his mind.

Mike Tyson looked dead serious as he spoke these words on HotBoxin’. Atlas is well known for his matured thoughts in boxing. Given his verdict, shall Joshua now fight Joyce?
