Retired 46-Year-Old Floyd Mayweather Still Believed to Be Unbeatable Against Active Boxers

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is regarded as one of the best boxers in the world. The former five-division champion’s skills and intelligence were unmatched by anyone during his time and to this date. The 46-year-old still keeps himself busy with his exhibition matches. And ensures that he doesn’t lose touch with the sport and keeps himself physically fit. Despite his retirement, many fans still question the champ’s skills and if he still has what he used to during his heydays. And it seems like one fan of his has no doubt in Mayweather’s skills and capabilities, even at this age.

Mixed Martial arts practitioner and Hollywood actor Michael Jai White recently opened up about his thoughts on Floyd Mayweather Jr’s skills and whether he can still win inside the boxing ring if he was to fight now. White also highlighted another aspect of combat sports beyond just the physical attributes.

White believes Mayweather Jr. is still “leagues ahead of others”

In a recent interview with Vlad TV, Michael Jai White opened up about his thoughts on Floyd Mayweather Jr. and how he believes the 46-year-old can still fight and prevail in a fight. He further mentioned that he is impressed by the intellect of the former champ, and that’s something to look for.

He said, “If there’s anybody who can fight and win, it’s that guy because it’s the intellect to me. He is so far ahead of everybody psychologically.” He added, “I think he likes to watch and change his strategy in the middle of a round. He’s playing chess, and other people are playing checkers. Being in control of your body to enact those changes. Puts you leagues ahead of other people.”

White seems to be impressed by Mayweather Jr. as a professional boxer. And he even reigned in his fight against Canelo Alvarez to make a point about his “superior thinking” with respect to other fighters. The 55-year-old Hollywood star even explained the reason he believes Floyd Mayweather Jr chose his opponent for the next exhibition fight.

Since his retirement, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been involved in numerous exhibition bouts. He has made sure that he keeps himself sharp and does not let age come between him and his boxing acumen.
