‘Rocky’ stands as an immensely engaging film, not because of its storyline. A familiar tale of a club fighter from Philadelphia’s gritty streets given a shot at the world championship. While the plot may appear as a cliché from start to finish, the true essence of “Rocky” lies not in the narrative but in its portrayal of a hero. The next one is ‘Creed’, Ryan Coogler’s film offers unexpectedly rich emotional rewards.

Even for those unfamiliar with the extensive lore of Sylvester Stallone‘s iconic character, Rocky. Michael B. Jordan‘s movie introduces familiar elements – a humble boxer, a mentor, a supportive romantic interest, and a legendary opponent providing a chance of a lifetime. Antoine Fuqua’s “Southpaw” embraces the familiar rhythms of boxing, recognizing that the sport isn’t about reinventing punches but mastering techniques with precision.
